Hello friends, welcome here!
It is 5:00, I am not ashamed to say I am waiting for Taylor Swift’s music video for Lover to drop at 5:30. It is pouring outside and I am just feeling grateful. Life has gotten so busy with students returning to campus and my heart is so full. I’m also tired, but we are going to glaze over that bit for the moment.
Yesterday was my cocker spaniel, Newt’s, birthday! He is t w o ! He is currently curled up by my feet being the good boy he is, except when he isn’t (laughing emoji). He always surprises me with how smart he is. His favorite thing to do is chew things he shouldn’t – but he isn’t always obvious about it. He takes a toy or bone or something and lays down next to something he wants to chew, plays with whatever he is allowed to have, makes eye contact with me, acts all happy, and the next thing I’ll know the shoe he was laying next to is in his mouth. Such a trickster.
I am currently training for the Boston Half Marathon October 13th. Tonight, interval training is on the schedule. For my non-Floridian readers, the weather will be perfectly clear (and super humid) by then. Then, seeing how that goes, the plan is to do my first full marathon in January in Jacksonville, Florida, then wrap-up the road distance season with the Tallahassee Half Marathon in February. Then, trail race season will be upon us again!
I don’t know. I don’t really have a purpose in writing this beside just wanting to write. Life is really good right now. I’m happy. I’m tired. I’m staying active. I am ready for cooler weather and more outdoor adventures. I am excited to hike the Garden of Eden Trail for the first time this fall as well as go to Providence Canyon, do some camping. Tallahassee is really the perfect place for a nature loving city dweller to live.
I hope you all are well! What races or upcoming exciting things do you have in your future? Let me know in the comments below.
Love, love, love, ❤ Cyndel
